Cocircular Lab was founded by Adriana Galijasevic in November 2020. She is a designer, action researcher, systems thinker, innovator, educator and an advocate for circular economy based on the Cradle to Cradle design principles.

Before starting up Cocircular Lab, Adriana spent the last decade working with G-Star RAW where she spearheaded sustainable and circular product innovation, implementation and scaling across all G-Star RAW’s collections. Here, she collaborated with design, R&D, merchandising, sustainability team and supply chain partners. Once the product was ready to be launched, she also worked closely with the PR and Marketing department on messaging.

Adriana's pioneering work for the brand has received global recognition and has been featured by Forbes, United Nations, London Design Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. In 2019, she was selected for Rivet's Influential 50, an index of the most creative and forward-thinking leaders driving the global jeanswear industry.

Adriana graduated from Drexel University in 2002 with a major in Fashion Design and a minor in Art History. In 2007, she moved from NYC to Amsterdam to further specialize in 17th century Dutch Art at the University of Amsterdam. In February 2021, she completed Executive Program Mastering Negotiation and Influence at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Prior to G-Star, she worked as a Head Denim Designer in NYC for celebrity brands, Tina & Beyonce Knowles’ House of Deréon, Eve Jihan Jeffers’ Fetish, and Jay-Z’s Rocawear. Her love for denim prompted her to start up a Denim Institute in 2008. In collaboration with other denim enthusiasts and educational organizations, the institute’s mission was to research the past, confront the present, and open doors to future innovations in responsible denim design and production.

Adriana is one of the SDG Catalysts at Circular Fashion Summit by lablaco and the Innovators' Mentor at Fashion for Good. She also serves on the House of Denim International Advisory Board, Advisory Board for ArtEZ Fashion Professorship and Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute (C2CPII) Textiles & Apparel Experts Group.
